I'm a lover girl. I’m a ‘castles in the sky’ romantic. I’m an idealist. I long for communion. I’m floaty and feminine and ethereal.
AND.. I’m gonna be real with you, for the longest time I was a fantasist when it comes to romantic love and 80’s/90’s Hollywood didn’t help.
I’m a Sagittarius rising, and moon with Neptune on my ascendant. This placement means that I’m gentle, sensitive, incredibly loving, and hugely empathetic. Impressionable, and porous I feel every subtle nuance of energetic shift in others, and my imagination can go wild.
People don’t always see the real me, seeing instead a ‘mirage’ and my experience of this alongside my 5/2 Human Design profile, is being placed on a pedestal and then later drop-kicked off it. Many times I experienced people unwittingly falling in love with a mirage or reflection - and then some version of the Narcissus myth playing out.
Over time this repeating pattern made surrender and feminine dispersion feel unsafe, and I’d find myself seeking and leaning into that which I could control and feel solid in - work.
This pattern, repeated over time led to me closing off my heart and not trusting anyone or allowing my floaty, untethered self any airtime.
I found comfort and safety in my work. My midheaven is occupied by Saturn & Jupiter in Virgo & Mars & Pluto in Libra (alongside that Juno). These archetypes and their aspects led me to become ‘married to my work’ which really worked for me, for a while as I got comfortable in what I lovingly refer to as my ‘sassy Mary Poppins’ archetype..
Eventually though, even though I was living my purpose I became resentful and tired. Other aspects of my Soul longed to be seen. I desired a partnership founded on reciprocity and didn’t know how. My lover girl longed to feel the sun on her skin and the ocean breeze in her hair.
I devoured David Deida and tortured myself with polarity teachings that left no space for two whole humans to become greater than the sum of their parts together.
Over time I left the books and returned to my body and it’s oracular wisdom. I examined all the places where I longed to be rescued. I played in the realms of my own unrequited love and stayed with the feelings and sensate of the triggers that caused me to collapse into my wounded child.
I discovered the information that was coded into the soul contracts of my Astrology, Numerology, and Gene Keys charts (some of which I have shared here, and more) which led me to the places where the line between poison and medicine was thin, and I went to work alchemising.I love yoga nidra because it doesn't push or force anything and is akin to a really really good night sleep.
Now, I no longer have to choose between my inner lover girl and my inner diligent dude.. I no longer swing so violently between my child & my Sovereign. I have agency and instead of hyper independence or codependence, I live in a realm of reciprocal respect and nourishment.
My work, my friends, my partnerships are all whole and co-creative. I never have to choose, instead there are seasons of ebb and flow and this beautiful dance is something I want for you too!
